Welcome Guest,

My name is Salvador Vargas and I am a First Generation Latino student pursuing a Business degree at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I was born and raised in Southwest Detroit, also known as "Mexicantown". There, I lived in a small home with my two parents, three siblings and two dogs; Ringo and Pelusa.

Today, my passions are found in community and educational outreach and business/market development. Growing up in Southwest Detroit, a city were there was a lack of jobs, community programs. and strong educational institutions. I want to be able to strengthen my knowledge on business infrastructures and how to incorporate my passion for business and social justice to create sustainable projects in Detroit. Also, I hope to inspire the youth to enact on developing a stronger future for themselves through education while showing them the strength of business ventures.

Currently, I am an active member of LA CASA as well as a co-founder. I am the Vice-President of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc Chapter at the University of Michigan. I am a member of the Preparation Initiative program at Ross and the ALPFA program for Latinos in business. I also volunteer with PALMA of Tuesdays and Thursdays in at the Ann Arbor District Library. Although there are more involvements, my goal is to connect with as many people as possible to develop a better and wider perspective of the world.

Also about me:

  • I love sports

  • I love to eat and could cook all day (try me)

  • I am a professional binge watcher

  • Dogs are my weakness

  • I love to sing
