Overall, the ALA 421 course was an amazing experience and although some conversations were hard to follow through with, it was a great opportunity for me to explore my identities and those that I do not know so much of. From the start of my cohort's first session, I knew that I was going to build wonderful relationships in the class and that was proven throughout our weekly sessions. The conversations that were held in class were pretty dense and at times hard to continue with but this was a great learning experience. Coming from a very "machista" Mexican household, I grew up with the idea that men should not discuss how they feel or share their emotions, therefore, I felt like i was dipping my feet in water this whole semester.
